In addition, Rick has been a great supporter of many charitable efforts including: visiting with the Jimmy Fund during their visits to spring training and Fenway Park and partnering with Team Joseph for the last five years in their fundraising efforts to Strike Out Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. At 22-4 (.846), Rick became the 17th pitcher ever to win as many as 22 games in a season for the Red Sox, the first to do so since Martinez went 23-4 in 1999. He began the season with a 20-3 record, becoming the first pitcher in franchise history to win at least 20 of his first 23 decisions. Congratulations to Rick Porcello!
