November 11 - BoSox Club Luncheon Report

Past President, Paul Shorthose presented the annual meeting report.

Two awards were presented.  The Jernegan Award was presented to Paul Shorthose.  And the Bill Brooks award was presented to Dick Flavin.

Sam Kennedy asked that we please continue the tradition of trying to connect the next generation of fans of the Red Sox.  Amiel Sawdaye spoke about upcoming players to watch, including Yoan Moncada, Rafael Devers, and Anderson Espinoza.  All finished the year in Greenville.  Rich Gedman spoke about how he made his major league debut in 1980 pinch hitting for Carl Yastrzemski.

Club President Steve Hollingsworth ended the lunch with a quote from Tim Wakefield from a few years back ... "you know, there is a reason why they make the rearview mirror small and the windshield big, because the past doesn't really matter as much as what's looking forward in the future."  After hearing from these guys at today's luncheon, we have a very bright future ahead of us.

See you all at Spring Training!
