Congratulations to the 2019 DiMaggio Scholarship Recipients!

Shannon Colson is a senior at Saint Anselm's.  She plays outfield/second base for the Hawks.  After an impressive 2018-2019 season, she was selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner Association East Region's First Team and named to the Northeast-10 First Team.  She was the only Hawk to start in all 51 games and led the team in hitting with a .359 battering average with 52 hits in 43 games.  She had the most total at-bats on the team with 173, and ended the 2019 season with 3 doubles and a triple while driving in 13 runs.  She set a personal-best mark in the opening contest against Saint Michael's on April 10 with four stolen bases, breaking the program's record of 58 career stolen bases, and swiped 22 bases on her way to setting the program record for most stolen bases in a season.  Shannon holds a career total of 68 stolen bases, a team record, and is ranked 9th in the country in toughest to strikeout.  In 2018, she played in all 58 games, starting 57 times, and hit .311 with a 375 on-base percentage and .407 slugging percentage.  Shannon is an education major and ESOL minor from Rochester, NH.

    

Blaine Johnson, III is a senior at Saint Anselm's.  An outfielder for the Hawks, he made appearances in 14 games last year, earning 7 starts.  He had 13 errorless putouts, with an RBI against St. Michael's on April 2.  In 2018, he played in 17 games, collecting 4 hits in 30 at-bats.  He earned his first his for St. A's, a double, against West Va. Wesleyan.  He had at last one hit in three of his final 4 games of the year; with two doubles on the season.  He is from Massapequa Park, NY, and is a criminal justice major.
