Anika's illustrated book about America's first professional women's baseball league - best remembered as the inspiration behind the highest-grossing baseball movie of all time, Penny Marshall's "A League of Their Own"–chronicles this remarkable
chapter in history by weaving together newspaper and periodical clippings, historical documents and, best of all, an abundance of stories and quotes from the players themselves. The book, which appeals to all ages, resembles
a graphic novel, with pages full of original illustrations and visual vignettes that capture the spirit of the mid-century era and the league. Anika beautifully conveys her deep love and knowledge of baseball with whimsy, freshness and fun.

"We had to get out there and prove–wearing dresses and with a name like the Fort Wayne Daisies–that we could play baseball. It wasn't easy, but we did it. People may have come out the first time just for laughs and to see the legs,
but they kept coming back––and that was because we played good baseball." -- Lavonne "Pepper" Paire, catcher, 1944 - 53

Anika has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and on NPR. Her illustration work is included in the Society of Illustrators 62nd Annual and has been commissioned by ABC, FiveThirtyEight,
Merrill Lynch, American Express, women's and Major League Baseball organizations and international sports publications, as well as by a variety of musicians and record labels.

With Incredible Women, Anika shares the lasting impact these women made on baseball, sports and gender equity. They were the forerunners to modern-day trailblazers like Jean Afterman, the New York Yankees' Assistant General Manager and Senior
Vice President who wrote the foreword for Orrock's book, and Miami Marlins general manager Kim Ng, the first woman to oversee the baseball operations of a Major League Baseball team. Ng is the first woman to be named general
manager of a franchise in a major American men's sports league.
